Glycerol-based additives of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) films

چکیده

Glycerol (G), polyglycerols (PGs), glycerol triacetate (GTA), and tributyrate (GTB) were studied as additives of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB). The effect different concentrations (5–30%) these compounds on microstructure final properties PHB films evaluated. Microscopic studies revealed that samples with GTA GTB presented uniform microstructure, meanwhile those containing G PGs evidenced exudation. exhibited a ring banded spherulitic structure additives, mainly PGs, induced modifications during polymer isothermal crystallization. All decreased melting temperature, facilitating its thermal processability. addition reduction in glass transition demonstrating their plasticizing effect. showed the best mechanical performance since they highest deformation at break lowest maximum tensile strength, especially 30% GTB. Otherwise, due to prodegradative by them. increased water vapor permeability, this barrier property.
